DESCRIPTION:Join the Creedmoor Police Department for National Night Out on Tuesday\, August 3\, from 6   9 p.m. at South Granville High School (701 North Crescent Drive).\n\n The free annual event coincides with thousands of participating communities nationwide to heighten awareness of crime and drug prevention. Intended to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community\, the fun-filled summer evening includes activities focused on youth interaction\, safety education\, and community spirit.\n\nNational Night Out include fun activities like an inflatable obstacle course\, impaired-vision course\, several emergency vehicle displays\, a visit from Duke Life Flight\, and the Creedmoor Volunteer Fire Department will be on hand with water activities. Kids are encouraged to wear play clothes and bring a towel.\n\nFriendly competitions will pair police officers with kids for an obstacle course challenge\, and the ever popular sixth annual doughnut eating contest.\n\n \n\nIt's also a great night to not cook! Free hot dogs\, popcorn\, sno-cones\, and beverages are among concession stand offerings. \n\n "National Night Out is a unique opportunity for the police department and our community members to bond and build relationships while having a little fun\," said Creedmoor Police Chief Keith King.\n\n The 38th annual National Night Out event is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and is co-sponsored by the City of Creedmoor. More than 16\,000 communities from all 50 states\, U.S. territories\, Canadian cities and military bases around the world are involved. In all\, more than 40 million people are expected to participate in "America's Night Out Against Crime."\n\nVolunteers are still needed for the event.
