Description
What better way to kick off the 4th of July festivities than a community fireworks show?!? The City of Creedmoor and Town of Butner, along with support from Granville County, Town of Stem, and City of Oxford, are pleased to host this annual event in Granville County.
This year’s show will be on Friday, June 30 at Lake Holt, located on Old Highway 75 in Butner, with gates opening at 6:00 p.m and the show will start shortly after 9:00 p.m. Parking and security will be organized by officers of Butner Public Safety, Creedmoor and Oxford Police Departments, Granville County Sheriff’s Department, Creedmoor and Stem Fire Departments, and the Junior Volunteer Fire Department. Everyone who plans to attend must be through the gates by 8:45 p.m., due to safety concerns there will be no admittance after that time. The fireworks show will begin at dark and vehicles will not be able to leave until the show is over.
The evening will include several fun activities include a DJ spinning crowd-favorite songs and plenty of concession stand offerings. Please note that alcoholic beverages and/or open flame will not be permitted on site and event organizers request all pets be left at home due to the loud nature of fireworks. Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket and a flashlight to assist them in the walk back to their car after the show.
There is no scheduled rain date. If inclement weather prevents the show from taking place on June 30, it will be cancelled. More information and maps with directions to the event location and designated parking areas will be posted on the websites of the Town of Butner (www.butnernc.org), the City of Creedmoor (www.cityofcreedmoor.org), and Granville County (www.granvillecounty.org) in the near future.
