Summary:  GEF has been enhancing student performance in Granville County Schools (traditional public and charter) and the community by providing resources and enrichment programs focusing on literacy, technology, cultural arts, and grants for creative teaching projects.  The Executive Director (ED) serves as the Chief Executive Officer of GEF.
 
Reporting:  The ED reports to the Board of Directors through the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors.
 
Board:  Support the development and strengthening of the Board including assisting with member recruitment, implementation of committees, strategic planning, and program evaluation.
·        Serve as an ex officio  member of the Board and its administrative committees;
·        Work with each committee on long-range planning and core strategies for achieving goal as well as program year goals and ways to achieve those goals;
·        Assist Executive Committee in identifying, interviewing, recruiting, and orienting prospective new members and in monitoring Board performance;
·        Assist the Board in carrying out the fundraising plan for GEF funding programs.
 
Programs: Provide supervision and direction related to GEF’s school programs and activities.
·        Work with each committee on its goals for the program year and steps to achieving those goals;
·        Assist Granville County Traditional Public Schools and Charter Schools staff to implement the school programs of GEF;
·        Communicate to the Executive Committee the effectiveness of the school programs and the impact they make on student achievement.
 
Administration: Supervise office operations and direct all administrative functions.
·        Approve all vouchers for expenditures according to the budget;
·        Creating and maintaining lists of donors and honor roll of giving;
·        Arranging and contracting with vendors for equipment, supplies and services in accordance with Board policy;
·        Preparing annual organizational budget, overseeing the disbursement of funds, and preparing annual reports;
·        Review program reports.
 
Financial:  Prepare annual organizational budget for approval by the Board and oversee the disbursement of funds.
·        Assist Executive Committee in development of individual program budgets;
·        Supervise gathering of financial data and send to outside payroll;
·        Assist Treasurer in preparing of financial reports;
·        Oversee banking procedures and cash flow;
·        Contract for annual audit by outside firm and assist the outside firm in the audit.
 
Development:  Oversee financial development of GEF and its programs.
·        Prepare development plan with fundraising committee;
·        Oversee annual giving campaign and fundraisers  to include but not limited to:  Pig in a Raffle, Spell-a-bration, and Arts in Bloom;
·        Develop donor prospect lists and manage the same;
·        Seek grant opportunities, write grant proposals;
·        Visit potential major donors and institutional funders as well as seek out donor support and build relationships on that donor support;
·        Correspond with all donors and oversee receipting of all donations, including the Honor Roll of Giving.
 
Public Relations:  Serve as GEF representative in various public functions. 
·        Represent GEF in various media forums through interviews, press releases and maintaining social media presence;
·        Share the GEF mission and vision through public appearances and local civic functions.
 
Qualifications:  Experience in relationship building and solicitation is required.  Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.  Must possess ability to use Quickbooks and social media platforms.  Must be able to work well under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple tasks and have a flexible schedule.  Experience in managing volunteers and the ability to engage in a wide range of community members.  Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
