Electro-mechanical Test Technicians

Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing Inc is currently looking for an Electro-mechanical Test Technicians for its operations center in Creedmoor, NC. Ontic is engaged primarily in electro-mechanical assemblies for the aerospace industry including general aviation, commercial and military applications.
Ontic has a long history in the Aerospace and Defense marketplace, producing high quality products used in both legacy and modern applications.
As an integral part of the assembly build and test production team, responsible for the testing of various electronic/Mechanical products, ensuring that the finished product conforms to exacting quality and production standards.
Main Responsibilities include:
- Understands and follows written instructions, including schematic drawings, specifications, work orders and engineering documentation not test product
- Assemble, test, and inspect various mechanical, analogue & electronic products and final unit instruments, using diagnostic tests and methodologies.
- Perform tests by setting up and utilizing test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, frequency generators, and multi-meters
- Undertake analytical fault-finding & Assist engineering personnel in the troubleshooting, modification, and/or repair of non-conforming units
- Identify and undertake required repair to return product to required standard.
- Effective use and maintenance of systems and records to ensure service standards are always achieved (i.e., use of ERP/MRP, Database and IT systems
- Effectively interpret and utilize circuit diagrams, assembly and engineering drawings and specifications.
- Efficient and correct use of test equipment and diagnostic tools.
Skills, Aptitude and Experience Required:
- 2 - 5 years Working in a similar assembly role, soldering experience required.
- Possess excellent attention to detail and be able to demonstrate dexterity and hand to eye coordination.
- Knowledge & Experience of working with electronic LRU’s containing PCB/modules.
- Troubleshoot and rework assembled units that fail standard tests
- Testing tasks may include some of the following:
- Including the setup and use of test equipment in accordance with approved documentation, Test Spec, operating instruction etc.
- Working with parts which require special care in handling including ESD procedures.
- Additional duties to include, but not limited to calibration, in-line inspection, and final inspection of units/assemblies.
- High school diploma or equivalent
Candidates shall be required to successfully complete physical dexterity assessment during interview.
Prescreen drug test and background check is required.
